Exports of Ukrainian oilseed products through Odesa ports currently account for about 75-80% of total shipments, while before the full-scale invasion this figure was about 90%, estimated Stepan Kapshuk, CEO of the Ukroliyaprom Association.
“As soon as the ports of Odesa were opened, this percentage reached 75-80%, and before the war it was 90%,” Kapshuk said.
He also noted that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when the ports were blocked, it was a real collapse for the industry, as Ukrzaliznytsia took over only about 35% of such transportation, and road transport – about 20%. At the same time, logistics costs increased by about 3-4 times, “because to deliver 1 ton of oil to Europe, it cost about 353 EUR.”
