For the first time, Russia has shipped a batch of grain to India from the Baltic Sea ports, according to the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Grain Quality Assessment”.
According to the report, in the period from January to May 2024, the specialists of the St. Petersburg branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution conducted quality and safety control of grain products on ten ships, each of which had a capacity of 30 thsd tonnes to 60 thsd tonnes.
“The 10th consignment was shipped to India with peas of Russian origin, and it was the first time that grain was shipped to this country from the Baltic Sea ports,” the statement said.
In general, the grain products were shipped from the Baltic Sea ports to India, Turkey, Belgium, Italy, Algeria, Cuba and Morocco during the mentioned period. The main exported crops were soft wheat, barley, peas, lentils and flax.
