Biofuels Highlights

-Interest in biofuels from the regional marine fuels sector has risen in April.
-Vitol in March delivered its first B30 blend in Singapore, higher than the usual B24 mix, through its specialised Marine Future bunker barge which is capable of supplying up to B100.
Bio-bunkering volumes in Singapore also reached a five-month high of 66,000t in March. Both voluntary and compliance demand was slow at the start of the year, possibly because of budgetary issues, but demand is beginning to recover.
-Shipowners still need to meet carbon intensity requirements under International Maritime Organization and EU Emissions Trading Scheme requirements this year.
