USGC Grain Price Report for week ending 17 May 2024

Corn planting continues at a good pace and almost 70% of the corn was planted a on 20th May 2024, and has caught up with the 5 year average at 71%. 40% of the corn has also emerged which is a little better than five year average of 39%.

US prices were down at close of the session on 17 May 2024, Jul $178.09/MT; Sep $182.03/MT and Dec 187.54/MT

Corresponding the FOB prices were as under

US Gulf $201-204 /MT (May – Aug)

PNW $236-232 (May-Jul); US#3 corn 220-225/MT (Aug)

Other origin corn prices were

Argentina $195-190MT (Aug); Brazil $205-200/MT (Aug) and Ukraine $195-200/MT (Aug)

Sorghum prices at $253/MT FOB Texas

Barley prices from different origins : France $240-243/MT; Argentina $220-213/MT; Black Sea $185-190/MT and Australia $255-260/MT

DDGS prices – Jun-Aug  US Gulf $195-190/MT; PNW rail delivered $230-234/MT. Delivered price of DDGS to Vietnam $275-280/MT; Thailand at $285-291/MT; Myanmar at $287-293/MT (Prices for DDGS Profat 35%), bulk in Containers. CGM prices on FOB basis 444/MT and CGF at $104-108/MT

US DDGS remains a cheapest protein source at this time on FOB basis $.7.07 per % protein and additional energy via fat. US SBM is at $9.16 per percent protein. DDGS delivered to the region (Vietnam) is also low at $9.82 per percent protein.
