Wheat prices stable, guar gum and seed rise
New Delhi. The prices of gram have stabilized in Delhi. According to the trader, its prices had weakened on Monday, and looking at the way the weather is clear in the producing states, the arrivals of new gram will increase. Therefore, dal millers are currently buying gram only as per their requirement. Therefore, due to the pressure of gram arrivals, there is a possibility of a slight decline in the current prices, in such a situation, gram should be purchased only when the price comes down. However, the production estimate of gram in the current season is low.
In Delhi, the price of new gram from Rajasthan remained stable at Rs 5,725 to Rs 5,750 per quintal, while the price of new gram from Madhya Pradesh remained stable at Rs 5,700 to Rs 5,725 per quintal. The daily arrival of gram was of 6 to 7 motors.
The bill price of moth remained stable at Rs 6,400 per quintal in Jaipur market.
In Solapur, the price of pigeon pea has opened higher by Rs 100. According to traders, lemon prices rose by $20 on Monday, so importers are increasing its price, although a big rise is not expected. Therefore, profit booking should be done at higher prices. Anyway, in the coming days, the arrival of lemon from Myanmar will increase, along with new pigeon pea shipment will come from Sudan. In the domestic market, pulse mills are buying only as per the requirement because the demand for pigeon pea is weaker than normal. On the other hand, the central government is constantly reviewing the prices of pulses. According to experts, the arrival of Desi pigeon pea will continue in the producing markets. In Solapur market, the price of Desi pigeon pea was quoted at Rs 9,500 to Rs 10,800 per quintal.
The price of Urad imported from Burma remained stable in Chennai in dollar terms today, whereas it had risen by five dollars on Monday. Therefore, its price may improve slightly in the domestic market, but on one hand the demand for Urad dal in wholesale and retail is weaker than normal. Secondly, the arrival of Urad is continuing in Telangana as well as Andhra Pradesh. Due to the strictness of the central government, the mills are purchasing Urad only according to the requirement. In any case, the import of Urad from Myanmar will increase in the coming days, in any case the production estimate in Myanmar is high. In such a situation, due to the activity of stockists in the domestic market, there may be a slight increase in the prices of Urad, but there is no possibility of a big increase. The price of Urad SQ from Burma to Chennai was quoted at $ 1,130 and FAQ at $ 1,040 per ton, C&F.
The prices of moong have become stable in the producing markets. Traders are not in favor of a big increase in the prices of moong right now. The weather is clear, therefore the daily arrival of moong in the markets of the producing states has started increasing as compared to before. Also, as it is the consumption season, the demand for moong dal will remain and there is a possibility of reduction in the production estimate of moong. Therefore, limited increase or decrease in its price is expected. The prices of moong remained stable at Rs 6,800 to Rs 8,000 per quintal in Chhindwara market.
The price of Desi Masoor became stable in Delhi, whereas the prices had risen on Monday. According to the traders, the weather is bad in Madhya Pradesh as well as Uttar Pradesh, hence the arrival of new Masoor has increased. A record production of Masoor is expected in the current Rabi season. Therefore, a further decline in its price is expected. However, due to low outstanding stock, the arrival of old Desi Masoor is decreasing in the producing markets, whereas the demand for Masoor dal from the consuming states of Bihar, Bengal and Assam is expected to remain the same. Therefore, there is no possibility of a big rise in its price. The price of Desi Masoor in Delhi was quoted at Rs. 6,350 per quintal.
Along with paddy, the price of Basmati rice has remained stable. According to the traders, the mills have stock of paddy at high prices, while the export demand for rice is expected to remain. Therefore, there will not be much decline in the prices. In Tohana Mandi, the price of 1,401 variety of paddy was Rs. 4320 and the price of 1,847 variety of paddy was Rs. 3,615, and in Ratia Mandi, the price of 1,401 variety of paddy was quoted at Rs. 4,295 to Rs. 4,315 per quintal. The price of PB 1 variety of paddy was Rs. 3,885 to Rs. 3,911 per quintal.
Wheat prices stabilized at Rs 2500 per quintal on Lawrence Road. The weather is favorable, so the arrival of new wheat in the states of North India will increase in the coming days, so its price is expected to soften. There has been an increase in the arrival of new wheat in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The price of maize has stabilized. According to traders, the arrival of maize in Bihar’s mandis has increased as compared to earlier, and its arrival will increase further in the coming days, hence its price is expected to soften further. The bill price of maize in Sangli mandi remained at Rs 2,340 per quintal.
The prices of millet have become stable. According to the traders, the arrival of millet in the producing markets is decreasing, so there is no possibility of much decline in its price. Millet reached Jagdishpur and was traded at the rate of Rs 2,430 per quintal.
The prices of barley have weakened. The arrival of new crop of barley has increased in the producing markets, and the arrival will increase further in the coming days, so its prices are expected to decrease further. The prices of barley in the producing markets are running from Rs 1500 to Rs 1,850 per quintal depending on the quality.
Sugar prices remain stable. Traders are not very bearish on sugar right now, due to the summer season, demand for sugar is expected to remain. However, the central government has released a large amount of sugar quota for March.
Castor seed prices weakened by Rs 10 to Rs 1,150-1,180 per 20 kg in Gujarat with daily arrivals of 1,25,000 bags. Castor oil prices remained steady at Rs 1,200 for commercial and Rs 1,210 for FSG per 10 kg in Rajkot.
There is a possibility of slight improvement in the price of mustard. Although there is a slight decline in palm oil in Malaysia, soya is rising sharply in Chicago. If the weather remains favourable in the producing states, the arrival of new mustard will continue. In such a situation, there is no possibility of a big increase in its prices. The prices of mustard oil and cake have become stable.
In the domestic market, the prices of edible oils have opened higher by 5 to 15 rupees on the second day as well. Although the June palm oil futures contract in Malaysia fell by 3 rigints and the price remained at 4,264 rigints per tonne, but soya oil is higher in Chicago. However, a one-sided big rise in edible oils is not expected in the world market, so there may be a slight improvement in their prices in the domestic market but the chances of a big rise are less.
Soybean prices have risen in the producer markets. According to traders, its prices are not expected to rise much in the domestic market. Daily arrivals in the producer markets will remain the same, while plants are buying only as per their requirement. Soybean and soy oil prices have opened higher in Chicago for the second day, while mills have seen a decline.
Cotton prices have risen in the domestic market, cotton futures in the foreign market rose by three points on Monday, due to which the demand of domestic mills has increased. According to traders, the demand of spinning mills is expected to remain in cotton, in any case the outstanding stock of cotton with the mills is low. Therefore, prices are expected to increase further.
The prices of cottonseed and cottonseed cake have increased. According to traders, selling at lower prices has reduced, although oil mills are buying cottonseed only as per their requirement. The daily arrivals of cotton in the producing markets have decreased as compared to earlier, and the arrivals will decrease further in the coming days, hence there may be a slight increase in their prices.
Prices of guar seed and guar gum have increased. According to traders, stockists are still active, so there can be a slight increase in its price, but a big increase will not last. Export demand for guar gum products is weaker than normal. However, daily arrivals of guar seed have decreased compared to earlier.
